Tea, Coffee, Gardening & Special Four-Legged Visitor

resident gardening

Our weekly tea and coffee morning was enjoyed out in the garden this week, making the most of the beautiful sunshine. Residents spent time chatting over a hot drink while enjoying the fresh air and lovely surroundings.

This week's special visitor was Syd the greyhound, who was a big hit with everyone. Residents loved spending time petting him and giving him treats, bringing plenty of smiles to the morning.

The gardening continued too, as residents planted out our Bizzy Lizzies. Last year, these beautiful flowers helped us win an award for Tunbridge Wells in Bloom, and we're hoping they flourish once again as we aim for the top prize this year. With so much love, care and attention from our residents, we're excited to watch them grow over the coming months. We can't wait to see how our garden develops this summer and to welcome more special visitors along the way.

Research has shown that interacting with animals can help reduce feelings of loneliness and encourage social engagement for older adults, while gardening provides gentle physical activity, supports wellbeing and gives people a rewarding sense of purpose through nurturing plants.
