We provide Palliative Care at Tunbridge Wells Care Centre for those approaching the end of their life. Our team is dedicated to ensuring comfort, dignity, and compassionate support for both residents and their loved ones during this time.

We are pleased to offer Respite Care at Tunbridge Wells Care Centre. Before admission, we assess each individual’s care needs to determine the appropriate length of stay. Respite care is ideal for those recovering from an illness, injury, or surgery who need extra support before returning to daily life. It is also a valuable option for full-time caregivers in need of a well-earned break.

Every care plan is tailored to the individual and regularly reviewed to ensure it continues to meet their needs. We recognise that health and well-being requirements can change over time, so our approach is very flexible and adaptable. We work closely with residents and their families to create personalised care plans, making adjustments as needed to ensure ongoing comfort and support.

We’re here to make life as easy and enjoyable as possible for our residents. That means providing the care and support they need with things like mobility, personal care, and medical needs, so they don’t have to worry. But well-being is about more than just care – we also offer plenty of ways to stay active, social, and engaged. Whether it’s joining in on activities, picking up a new hobby, or just spending time with others, we make sure there’s always something to look forward to.

Residential care offers 24-hour support with daily tasks like personal care and mobility for those who don’t need ongoing medical attention. Nursing care, on the other hand, also provides round-the-clock support but includes the expertise of a registered nurse available at all times to manage medical needs. The main difference is the level of medical care provided, with nursing care offering that extra layer of medical expertise.

At Tunbridge Wells Care Centre we require a 28-day notice period for residents receiving any of our long-term care services who wish to move out. Our compassionate team is available around the clock to support you through the transition and answer any questions you may have.

We do encourage all our residents to bring personal items to make their rooms feel like home. Whether it’s photographs, decorations, or small pieces of furniture, adding personal touches can truly transform a room. These little additions help create a familiar and comfortable space, making each resident’s bedroom their own.

Yes, each of our bedrooms is equipped with a private en-suite bathroom, complete with a sink, toilet, and shower/bath, ensuring residents have everything they need for privacy and comfort.

We offer a variety of facilities to ensure our residents have everything they need for comfort and enjoyment. These include an in-house hairdresser, both communal and private dining spaces, an engaging activities programme and a private garden where residents can relax or pursue their hobbies.

Our dedicated team of Activities Coordinators encourages residents to join in a variety of group activities and events. These can include pet therapy, arts & crafts, pamper sessions, gardening, exercise classes, live entertainment, games, quizzes, and much more. There’s always something exciting going on to keep everyone engaged!

Our in-house chef and kitchen team ensure that all dietary needs are catered to, offering a varied seasonal menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day. Residents can enjoy their meals in the dining rooms, their own rooms, private dining areas, or even outside in the garden during the warmer months.

We understand how important pets can be to our residents. Whether pets can be brought into the home depends on any allergies among our other residents. Please contact us to discuss this in more detail and explore how we can accommodate your needs.

There are actually several ways to pay for care home fees, depending on the individual’s circumstances. If the person has eligible care needs and limited financial resources, the local authority may assist with covering part or all of the fees, based on their financial assessment. For those requiring full-time nursing care, they may be eligible for NHS continuing healthcare funding, which covers the entire cost of care, including accommodation and personal care. If the individual has enough income, savings, or assets, they may need to cover the fees themselves, though family members may sometimes contribute. In some cases, a combination of local authority funding and self-funding can also be used.

If your care home fees exceed the amount covered by your local council, someone else, such as a family member, can contribute to cover the difference between the council’s funding and the home’s total fee.

From the date of death, all fees related to the Care Agreement will be discontinued. Accommodation charges will apply for up to three days following the date of death or until the home is cleared of personal belongings.

Care home fees are determined by an individual’s assets and income. This assessment takes into account savings, income, and capital assets such as property and investments. Contributions towards care home fees are based on these factors, and if an individual’s financial situation falls below a certain threshold, they may be eligible for assistance from the Government. This could cover all or part of the care home fees, or at least provide a contribution towards them. For more information, please contact our team.

When you pay your weekly care home fees at Tunbridge Wells Care Centre, this covers your accommodation, all meals, snacks, drinks, activities, in-house facilities, and local outings (though some excursions may have additional charges). The fees also include all care and support, though certain medical services like dental care or chiropody may come at an extra cost.
