We held our annual Summer Fair on Saturday 18th August and with the sun on our side, it was a roaring success.

There were games for the young, and the old to get involved with, from the hook the duck, play your cards right to shuffleboard. The tombolas also drew the crowds, with some fantastic prizes up for grabs and the bottle tombola gave guests a chance to win bottles of wine to cans of Pepsi, so there was something for everyone! We also had craft stalls selling beautiful hand-made jewelry from the residents as well as stall selling hand-made cards for all occasions.

A big thank you goes out to Dominoes and Wagamama’s for their kind donations for our tombola!

We also celebrated a special birthday and anniversary. Resident Gail was joined by her husband on the day, and the whole garden sang together to wish her a big happy birthday with a delicious cake to tuck into too.

If that wasn’t enough, we had the very popular Amazing Animal World joining us on the day. They gave everyone, young and old, to meet some unique and wonderful animals – they definitely kept everyone entertained.

All donations and sales from the event were donated to the Alzheimer’s Society and PAT (Pets as therapy), and an incredible £740 was raised for the charities. The home would like to thank everyone who donated prizes, helped on the day and of course all of our family and friends for their continued support.
