Creative Moments Shared Across Generations

We were delighted to welcome the children from St Luke’s Preschool for a heartwarming morning of colouring, arts and crafts ahead of Mother’s Day. Residents and children shared smiles and creativity while decorating beautiful Mother’s Day bouquets.
Using colourful stickers, pens and plenty of imagination, the children carefully decorated their bouquets while chatting with residents about the special people in their lives. Together, everyone shared what makes their mums and grandmas so special.

Some of the children’s lovely answers included: “Because she plays with me,” “Because she is so loving and kind,” and “Because she gives me cuddles.” Their sweet and thoughtful words brought many smiles to the residents’ faces and sparked warm conversations about cherished family memories.
Moments like these show just how important intergenerational activities are in a care home. Bringing different generations together helps create meaningful connections and encourages conversation about their own experiences growing up.
It was a wonderful morning of creativity, kindness and shared stories, and we are so grateful to the children from St Luke’s Preschool for showing their kindness, art work and friendly hearts.
